Then it struck me, the answer was enrolling in a New York film school. Of course, I knew that this was not going to be easy. I knew I was not the only person who wants a slot in a prestigious school, but I told myself it was worth the risk. I filled out an application form and submitted all the requirements that they needed. Then the essay question, what you have that other applicants do not? I could say experience, but everyone has those. I could have said skills, but skills can be learned. So, I wrote down, “I have a heart for film, for acting. That is why I still tried to apply, even if I knew there are several others who are more qualified.” Guess what? I got in.
