July 4th, 2010 by admin

Who would not want the opportunity to study English courses in Boston? Not only is Boston one of the oldest major cities in the United States, but it is a city with great historical, educational, and cultural significance.  If you’re an international student and you’re looking to take English courses in USA, Boston should be at the top of your list.

The Boston-Cambridge area is an educational mecca. Harvard and MIT are the most popular and most prestigious institutions in the area, but these are only two of many institutions of higher education here.  Founded in 1636, Harvard University is the oldest institution of higher learning in the United States. Established two centuries later in 1865, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) was founded with the goal of establishing a new kind of independent educational institution with a role to play in a newly industrialized society.

There are more than a dozen four-year institutions of higher learning within the Boston city proper and many more in the area surrounding the city of Boston. For example, just within a few miles of Harvard and MIT are Boston University, Northeastern University, Emerson College, and many more.  Other well-known institutions of higher education in the region include Tufts University, Boston College, Brandeis University, and Wellesley College.

All the various educational institutions make Boston a mecca of higher education. Being home to so many institutions of higher learning means Boston is also home to many young people. This makes Boston a fun place to be in as an international student!
